Cooperative Employees’ Credit Union (CECU) conducts business for the benefit of its member-owners. CECU provides a full spectrum of quality financial products that create opportunities for its members’ financial growth and stability. The Credit Union will earn and be worthy of our members’ trust by being fair, empathetic and responsive when serving their members.
Cooperative Employees’ Credit Union (CECU) is a voluntary, nonprofit, cooperative association of individuals sharing a common employment bond as defined by our field of membership. Each member is an owner of the Credit Union and is entitled to a single vote regarding the business. Chartered on September 25, 1967, CECU was established to provide Western Farmers Electric Cooperative employees and family members a means to save and borrow money.
Each year, Members gather at the Annual Meeting to elect a nine-member Board of Directors from the Membership, and to conduct other such business as may be brought to the Board at that time. The Board, consisting of uncompensated volunteers, is ultimately accountable for the success of CECU and is directly responsible to the Membership. The Board of Directors elect their own officers, consisting of President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer, from the group that the Membership elects to serve as directors. In addition to policy setting, the Board also appoints the Supervisory Committee, which serves as a watchdog for CECU and its Membership and thus is also directly responsible to the Members. The Supervisory Committee is also responsible for regulatory and procedural compliance and Credit Union safety and soundness. Committees

The Manager reports directly to the Board and is responsible for the execution of the Board’s directions in the daily operations of the Credit Union and in meeting Members’ expectations. The Manager also hires and manages the performance of all staff for the benefit of the Membership.
